Currently, all strains collected from golf course greens are being vegetatively propagated for use in research and demonstration plots and for the project's various experiments. This ensures genetic purity of individual strains but is very costly in terms of labor and time. Approximately 600 sq. ft. was propagated and established in the field during the first half of 1996. Presently, materials are being vegetatively propagated for a spring 1997 planting that will yield approximately 1,400 sq. ft.
